Microgreen Program Donations
Most food banks use their donations to BUY food and then distribute it to their clients.
The Rock Soup Greenhouse and Food Bank is different, we actually grow our own produce rather than buy it.
Every dollar donated, allows us to grow at least four dollars' worth of produce,
which then goes directly to help feed the needy.
What's in it for you?
A charitable donation receipt, with a BIG tax refund, and the knowledge you are helping to feed a lot of needy people.
We have different donorship levels and they all come with amazing benefits additionally to knowing that you are supporting Rock Soup and its mission.
Every dollar donated, does at least four dollars of good.
The First dollar goes directly to Rock Soup, which allows us to grow fresh microgreens,
The Second and Third dollars, come from microgreens grown by Rock Soup, and then donated to other local food banks,
The Fourth dollar comes from the government in the future, by way of a matching grant.
General Donations
Interac money transfer is the best and most convenient way to make a donation. If you would like a charitable donation tax receipt then please include your: Name, Address, email, and phone number, in the message section of the transfer. No password is needed as we are set up to auto deposit the transfer immediately. Please send your transfer to :

Charitable donation receipt – You will get an official charitable donation receipt for your Donation. These official receipts can be used on your tax return to generate a tax refund on taxes you have paid. The amount of your individual refund is based on your individual tax situation. In general an Alberta taxpayer can receive up to about a 50% tax refund (29% Federally and 21% Provincially) of their charitable donation receipt. Donations over $1,000

or a recurring donation of at least $100 per month.
All Large Support & Donations Include
A small welcome gift – As part of the Large Support & Donation program, you will receive a small welcome gift of microgreens. The size of this gift is about 24 oz in size and is one of the complementary samples we routinely give out to promote the microgreens program. This small gift has no monetary value.
A 12-month membership in our Feed the Needy-Program – As a member of this program, we will grow microgreens on your behalf for a minimum of 12 months and donate those microgreens to another independent local foodbank on your behalf, in exchange for a charitable donation receipt from that other foodbank in your name.

The net result is that every $1000 of support will allow us to grow at least $2,500 worth of produce which we donate to other food banks on behalf of the supporter.
You will get your charitable donation receipts from the other Food Banks by email once the microgreens are grown and donated to those food banks and this will be prior to the current year end, so they may be used on your next tax return.
